Operator and scope
WS App Studio provides Volcano Dex for Android (com.volcanodex.app). Effective: 2026-10-27. Contact support@wsappstudio.com for privacy questions, corrections or deletion requests.
Records on your device
No account is required. Observation dates, methods and your notes, favorites, collected cards, quiz and review records, recently viewed volcanoes and settings such as language are stored on your device. We do not automatically send learning records to our own servers or synchronize them across devices, and do not directly pass them to the advertising SDK. We do not collect observation locations through location permission.
Google AdMob advertising
The Android app contains Google Mobile Ads SDK banner ads. For advertising, analytics, performance improvement and fraud prevention, Google may collect and share IP addresses (which can estimate approximate location), app/ad interactions, diagnostic and performance information, and identifiers such as advertising IDs and app set IDs. SDK transmissions use TLS encryption. Google policies govern its processing and retention.
Consent and changing choices
Where required, a Google UMP form appears before ad requests. You can choose consent and manage options, and revisit choices through Ad privacy settings in the app when required. Refusing consent does not necessarily remove all ads; limited ads may also involve some processing. Android settings let you reset or delete the advertising ID. We do not request ads unless UMP permits it.
Backup, restore and deletion
You can manually save an unencrypted JSON backup in Documents or send it to an app/storage destination selected in the share sheet. Backups contain observation notes and learning records: keep them safe. Restore reads only your selected file. Reset all records in the app or clear app storage in Android to delete local records. Delete external copies separately at their saved destinations. Android automatic backup is enabled; OS backups may restore app data depending on device, account and settings. Manually back up important records before uninstalling.
Permissions, external links and support
We do not request location, camera, microphone or contacts permissions. Android 10 and earlier may require storage access to save documents. External source/policy links follow the destination policies. Sender addresses and messages emailed to support are used to respond and provide follow-up support, and are processed and retained by the email service. Do not send unnecessary sensitive information. We update this policy when processing changes. The app is not designed primarily for children under 13.
