Operator and scope

Records on your device
No account is required. Reading position and completion, favorites, bookmarks, highlights, notes, cards, quiz answers, scores, mistakes, language and display preferences are stored on your device. The app does not automatically send these records to WS App Studio servers or provide its own cross-device synchronization.
Advertising and privacy choices
The Android app uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob). Google may collect and share IP addresses (which can indicate approximate location), app and ad interactions, diagnostics, and applicable device or account identifiers for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. Google states that SDK data is encrypted in transit using TLS. Ads are limited to a General content rating; child-directed and under-age-of-consent ad settings are not applied. Google UMP determines which consent forms are needed and whether ads may be requested. The app does not request ads if this check fails. Where required, Ad consent settings in Settings lets you change your choices. You can manage the Android advertising ID in device settings. The web version does not initialize this SDK, and iOS ad IDs are not currently configured.
Backups, retention and deletion
Manual backups are unencrypted JSON files and may include your notes. They are downloaded on the web or saved to Documents on Android. Restore reads the file you select. Erase everything removes reading, note, card and quiz records while keeping display preferences. It does not delete separate backup files; manage those at their saved locations. Android system backup and device transfer are enabled, so copies may leave your device depending on OS, manufacturer and account settings. Manage system copies through that service; restoration is not guaranteed. Uninstalling or clearing app data may remove local records, which the operator cannot recover.
Permissions and external services
The app does not request location, camera, microphone or contacts permissions. Android 10 and older may require storage permission to save Documents backups. External links and services you use to share backups are governed by their own policies. See Google's privacy policy below for Google's retention, deletion and privacy rights.
